Expand this menu to edit the layout name and description. The total capacity will update as you create the seat map below.
Seat Map Toolbar
Here you have the option to zoom in and out as well as utilise the navigational functions such as the directional arrows to reposition the map and the ‘Reset Scale and Navigation’ option which re-focusses the map to the original position. To use the directional arrows, always start with the right-hand side to unlock the left-hand side movement.
Tip: It’s important to use the ‘Reset Scale and Navigation’ function when adding any objects such as lines or circles because it’s the best way to see the map to scale correctly.
Select By (Seat, Row, Group or Block):
This function allows you to select seats or objects by different variations. You will select seats in order to edit things like seat spacing and to add a curve or skew the seats and objects in order to edit things like the height and width of the object. You may need to change between the options to select different components of the seat map.
Seat: Allows you to select individual seats from any row or table.
Row: Allows you to select rows of seats that use the same label. For example, 2 rows next to each other labelled ‘A’. This function applies to rows only and therefore does not work for tables.
Group: Allows you to select by a group of consecutive seats next to one another in a vertical line (not any seats that are separated by an aisle/gap), select an entire table or an object. To select an object, you have to select by ‘Group’.
Block: Allows you to select an entire block of rows of seats. This function is useful for editing on a larger scale. To select an entire table, you will need to choose to select by ‘Row’.
Toolbar buttons:
Group select tool: Allows you to go back to selection mode.
Show Labels: Allows you to show or hide the seat labels on the seat map.
Colour: Allows you to choose a colour from the colour palate and apply it to an object in the template. Make sure the object you would like to add colour to is selected prior to using this function.
Rotate: Allows you to rotate a row, group, block or object. Use the plus or minus to change the degree of rotation. Note that this function is different from skewing the seats and it does not work for individual seat selection.
Duplicate: Allows you to create a duplicate copy of an object or ‘Group’ of seats. If you are copying a group of seats, please bear in mind that it will copy identical labels as well.
Delete: Allows you to delete any seats or objects you have selected. Simply choose to ‘Select By’ your preference, choose the object or seat/s you would like to delete and hit the delete button.
Preview Seat Map: At any stage during the build, click ‘Preview Seat Map’ to view how your seat map will appear online.
ROW SEATING
Need Section Label?
By selecting the check box, you are able to combine blocks, rows and seats under one label area. Enter the section label, which will display on the seat map. The section abbreviation is used to identify the section in the best available template. Create many types of sections such as Balcony (BAL), Main Seating (MS) or VIP (VIP). Sections can be assigned to a seat, row or block of seats or tables and the section label name can be edited after it’s created by changing the font, colour or its location by dragging and dropping. If you need to replicate row and seat labels and numbers, you will need to create a section.
No. of blocks:
‘Blocks’ allows you to create any number of rows and seats that have a consecutive pattern. Enter the number of blocks you require, the number of rows and number of seats, then proceed to create the layout. Select, drag and drop to change the location once created in the template. Remember to use the correct ‘Select By’ option.
No. of rows per block:
‘Rows’ allows you to create as many rows of seats at one time as you need. Rows indicate how many horizontal lines of seats you want to create in the block or blocks of seats. The system will automatically assign row labels based on the information provided in the below fields about row labels. You are able to edit the row content after they’ve been created. Select, drag and drop to change the location once created in the template. Remember to use the correct ‘Select By’ option.

Select, drag and drop to change the location once created in the template. Remember to use the correct ‘Select By’ option.
Row Label Position:
Select which side of the row the row label will appear on in the seat map. You can select to have it appear on both sides, only on the left or right or to not display at all. This can be edited after it has been created by selecting the particular row and changing the option from the panel on the right-hand side.
Seat Spacing:
Seat spacing indicates the distance between seats displayed on the seat map. This can be set as you’re creating the seat configuration, or you can select a row or block of seats and edit the spacing that way. You can even add additional spacing between specific seats (by selecting multiple individual seat) if you like for correct scale or to create an aisle.
Row Labels/Numbers:
Select the correct sequencing of row labels how you would like them to appear on the seat map. Do you need row labels other than the normal A, B, C or 1, 2, 3? We give you multiple choices for row labels such as AA, AB, AC and more. You can even choose your own label on a single row basis only. If you choose your own label, enter the label name into ‘Start Row Label With’ field. The system will automatically populate what you choose here, and it can also be edited once the seat sequence has already been created on the template.
Row Label Direction:
This determines what direction your row labels will travel and sequence in on the seat map. Will they go from top to bottom or bottom to top? Choose the direction of the arrow you desire. This option is available to suit the needs of those venues/locations that require different configurations. Letter and numbering will always sequence from A to Z, AA to ZZ or 1 to 100 (or more).

Curve:
By adjusting the levels, you can curve individual groups, rows and blocks depending on how you select them. For example, if you have 3 sections of seats and the outside sections need to have a curve to the stage, this is the tool to use. Curves can curve up or down from the centre of the row. These levels can be adjusted after seats have been added to the seat map by selecting the group, row or block you want to edit.
Skew:
By adjusting the levels, you can skew or angle individual groups, rows and blocks depending on how you select them. For example, if you have 3 sections of seats and the outside sections need to be on a diagonal angle to the stage, this is the tool to use. These levels can be adjusted after seats have been added to the seat map by selecting the group, row or block you want to edit.
Editing:
When editing a single seat, you are able to change the individual seat label number or letter to suit your needs. If you have selected multiple seats, you are able to adjust the seat spacing between them.
When editing a group, you are able to adjust the x and y axis of that group only compared to the rest of the seats. Adjusting the x axis will move the group of seats horizontally, while adjusting the y axis will move the group of seats vertically.
